The Rongai Route approaches Kilimanjaro from the Kenyan border on the mountain's dry northern side. Quieter trails, consistent weather, and beautiful views over the Amboseli plains. A great choice during the short rains when the southern routes are wet.

Drive from Moshi to the Rongai Gate near the Kenyan border — a beautiful 2-hour drive through Maasai land with views of the mountain's northern face. Begin through pine plantations and open moorland to First Cave Camp.
